ABOUT US
Young Ideas Group is a long-established, family-run group operating across both the retail and hospitality sectors. Our retail brands — Young Ideas and Henmores — are two of Derbyshire’s most loved premium fashion boutiques, with a loyal customer base built over more than fifty years. Our hospitality businesses include The Greenman public house and Rabbit & Stitch premium café and bistro, both rooted in the same communities we serve through our retail brands.
As we continue to grow, our Finance Team plays an increasingly important role in supporting the business. This is an exciting time to join us — we are an ambitious, close-knit organisation where your contribution will be visible and valued.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on, varied finance role working at the heart of the Young Ideas Group. As Group Management Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting across the group, supporting the Directors with the information they need to make informed decisions.
You will work closely with business owners and operational teams, and play a key role in supporting the wider finance function during an exciting period of expansion. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, owner-managed environment and enjoys making a real impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparing and delivering monthly management accounts across the group
• Producing board reporting packs for Directors
• Managing intercompany reconciliations
• Preparing and submitting group VAT returns
• Posting and reviewing key journals
• Supporting the wider finance function during a period of business expansion
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Proven experience in a management accounts role, ideally within a multi-entity or group environment
• Strong technical accounting skills including VAT, journals, and intercompany reconciliations
• Ability to produce clear, accurate financial reporting to board level
• Proactive and self-motivated — comfortable taking ownership of your workload in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with non-finance stakeholders
• Experience within retail, hospitality, or a family-run business is an advantage but not essential
WHAT WE OFFER
• A key role at the heart of a growing, family-run group with real variety across retail and hospitality
• The opportunity to work closely with business owners and have genuine influence on the direction of the finance function
• A supportive, collaborative working environment where your contribution is seen and valued
• Competitive salary dependent on experience
• Flexible working considered for the right candidate
