About Us
Young Ideas and Henmores are two distinct premium retail brands, united by a shared passion for quality, style, and exceptional customer service.
Established in 1968, Young Ideas is a multi-award-winning luxury fashion boutique offering a carefully curated edit of premium womenswear and menswear from world-renowned designers. With over fifty years of heritage, we are known for our expert styling, personal service, and deep relationships with a loyal and discerning customer base.
Founded in 2018, Henmores is a premium country lifestyle retailer rooted in the Derbyshire countryside. Our stores in Ashbourne and at Peak Village, Rowsley — near Chatsworth House — offer timeless wardrobe essentials for outdoor living, brought to life by a team with genuine knowledge of country life and the brands we carry.
Both brands operate boutique stores in affluent Derbyshire market towns alongside a shared e-commerce platform. We are now investing in a new, structured marketing capability to support the next stage of growth for both brands — and this role sits at the heart of that.
The Role
This is an exciting and varied marketing role at the heart of two distinctive premium fashion brands. As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of marketing activity across Young Ideas and Henmores — from social media content and email campaigns to in-store events and brand communications.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager and the Digital and Inventory Manager, and report directly to the Operations Manager. You will be the primary creative and organisational force behind the marketing output of both brands, ensuring that each retains its own distinct identity and voice across all channels.
This is a sole-resource role, combining strategic ownership with hands-on delivery across both brands. On joining, you will pick up and implement the existing marketing plan for the upcoming season, before taking full ownership of setting the strategic marketing plan for the season that follows.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & strategy
– Develop and manage the marketing calendar across both Young Ideas and Henmores, planning activity across both fashion seasons (Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter)
– Maintain the distinct brand identities of Young Ideas and Henmores across all marketing outputs — ensuring each brand communicates in its own voice, style, and tone
– Provide creative and visual direction for the website, working with the Digital and Inventory Manager who manages the Shopify platform operationally
– Work closely with the Operations Manager and Digital and Inventory Manager to stay current with new stock arrivals, brand launches, and key products across both stores
In-store & events
– Produce all in-store point of sale (POS) materials and signage across Young Ideas and Henmores locations, ensuring visual consistency and timely delivery
– Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of in-store events and community engagement activities for both brands
Design & content production
– Create graphics, templates, and visual assets for use across social media, email, in-store, and digital channels using Canva (and Adobe Creative Suite where required)
– Write compelling marketing copy in the voice of each brand — for social captions, email subject lines, product descriptions, event invitations, and campaign materials
Email & CRM
– Plan the content and messaging for all email and SMS campaigns, working with the Digital and Inventory Manager who implements and schedules them on Omnisend
– Ensure campaigns are tailored to each brand's customer base and reflect current stock and seasonal priorities
Social media management
– Plan, produce, and schedule engaging social media content across Instagram and Facebook for both Young Ideas and Henmores
– Create documentary-style, in-store content that brings the boutique experience to life for the social audience — including new arrival showcases, staff moments, styling features, and seasonal stories
– Visit store locations regularly to capture authentic content that reflects the warmth, knowledge, and personal service that defines both brands
– Manage community engagement across social channels — responding to comments and messages in line with each brand's voice
Skills & Experience
Essential
– Excellent organisation and communication skills — the ability to manage multiple brands, channels, and deadlines simultaneously is the most important attribute for this role
– An excellent team player — the success of Young Ideas and Henmores relies on its team members working together collaboratively and efficiently. This role sits at the centre of the business and touches every part of it; it is not a silo position and the right candidate will thrive on being connected, communicative, and genuinely invested in the wider team's success
– Demonstrable experience in a marketing, content, or creative role
– Experience with or a strong interest in fashion, lifestyle, or premium independent retail
– Good graphic design skills using Canva — able to produce professional-quality assets for social, email, and print without a designer
– Confident written communicator — able to write in the tone of a premium brand across different formats; use of AI writing tools is acceptable and encouraged
– Comfortable working across multiple brands or projects simultaneously, maintaining clarity and consistency in each
Desirable
– Strong social media skills — confident planning, producing, and publishing content across Instagram and Facebook, with a good eye for what works in a premium lifestyle or fashion context
– Competent with Meta paid social (Facebook and Instagram advertising) — campaign setup, audience targeting, and performance reporting
– Familiarity with Shopify for marketing purposes — content management, product pages, and collections
– Familiarity with an email marketing platform such as Omnisend, Klaviyo, or Mailchimp
– Adobe Creative Suite skills
– Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
What We Offer

– The opportunity to shape the marketing identity of Young Ideas and Henmores at an exciting stage of growth

– Staff discount across Young Ideas and Henmores
– Regular store visits across beautiful Derbyshire market town locations
